The "plugged in, not charging" message has exactly four causes. Here's how we isolate them at the bench — and what each costs.
1. The adapter is weak (₹700–₹1,500) Adapters age: output voltage sags under load even though the LED glows. About a third of charging complaints at our counter are just this. We test your adapter free.
2. The DC jack is loose (₹500–₹1,800) Wiggle the charger plug gently. If charging flickers, cracked jack solder is the fault — an inexpensive same-day repair that becomes a board-burning short if ignored.
3. The battery has aged out (₹1,500–₹4,500) Batteries at end-of-life refuse charge by design. The free 5-minute health report shows the exact wear level.
4. The charging IC has failed (₹999–₹3,500) If adapter, jack and battery all test fine, the charging circuit on the motherboard is the culprit. This is chip-level work — soldering microscope territory — and exactly what our bench does daily.
